A visit to the mines of Lapis Specularis as part of the II Symposium on Historic Mining and Metallurgy in South West Europe - Torrejoncillo del Rey (Cuenca) June 2004.

 

Lapis Specularis is a non-profit association registered with the official Registry of Associations of the Spanish Interior Ministry with the number 170.641 and with the CIF number of G16223737. Lapis Specularis brings together both public and private entities throughout Spain interested in promoting all aspects of research related to the cultural heritage of the Roman mines of lapis specularis (in modern Spanish espejuelo) in Castilla la Mancha.

The association, alone or in collaboration with other private as well as public institutions, aims to promote the spread of knowledge of this cultural heritage throughout society and at the same time to seek its protection and preservation.

The information produced by the association will appear on this webpage, informing the general public about the activities of the association, as well as of any news related to the Roman mining of lapis specularis
